Preparing for Your Appointment

Thoughtful preparation leads to beautiful healing. Please take the time to carefully review all FAQs, policies, pricing, and aftercare instructions prior to your appointment. This is an investment for both the artist and the client, and being fully informed helps ensure the best possible experience for everyone involved.

Proper preparation is essential. Understanding the process, expectations, and aftercare will allow your appointment to run smoothly and comfortably.

As your artist, I ask that you remember this is a true art form—each piece is created by hand, not by a machine. Every detail is thoughtfully crafted with care, precision, and creativity to give you a unique and personal result.

THANK YOU,

Jeanie

Lip Blush Pre-Care

  • If you have ever had cold sores, take antivirals 3–5 days before and 3 days after.

  • Cold sore prevention is an important part of preparing for your lip appointment. It’s estimated that 1 in 3 people carry the virus that can cause cold sores, even if they have never experienced an outbreak before. Because lip blushing is a form of tattooing, the procedure can sometimes trigger a flare-up.

For this reason, it is highly recommended to begin an antiviral medication prior to your appointment, as prescribed by your healthcare provider. This is the most effective way to prevent an outbreak and protect your results.

If a cold sore does occur, taking L-lysine may help reduce the severity and duration of symptoms. However, antiviral medication remains the most reliable option for prevention and management.

Please plan accordingly and consult with your doctor if you have any history of cold sores or are unsure how to proceed.

  • Exfoliate and hydrate lips for several days prior

  • No blood thinners, alcohol, or coffee 2–3 days before

  • Lip fillers must be at least 4 weeks old

  • Stay well hydrated

    IMPORTANT: RESULTS VARY

Lip blush results vary from person to person and are influenced by skin type, texture, age, and the condition of your lips.

Mature or thinner skin, fine lines or smoker’s lines, dry or flaky lips, and lips with more texture may have less precision and definition after tattooing. Pigment may heal softer or more unevenly in these areas.

Lip blush is designed to enhance and define your natural lips—not create perfectly crisp edges or replace lip filler.

Your healed results will be unique to your skin, and perfect symmetry, sharpness, or pigment retention cannot be guaranteed.

Eyeliner Pre-Care

  • 4 WEEKS BEFORE

    • Stop Retinol, Retin-A, and active skincare around the eye area.

    • No Botox or injectables around the eyes/forehead.

    1 WEEK BEFORE

    • No lash tint, lash lift, or lash perm.

    • Lash extensions must be completely removed before your appointment.

    DAY OF APPOINTMENT

    • No alcohol, caffeine, tanning, or strenuous exercise.

    • Arrive with clean eyes and no eye makeup, mascara, or creams.

    • If you wear contacts, you must remove them for the procedure. Bring your glasses.

    PLEASE RESCHEDULE IF

You have an eye infection, stye, pink eye, irritation, swelling, sunburn, or broken skin around the treatment area.

If you have recently had LASIK, eye surgery, or another eye procedure, please wait until you are fully healed and cleared by your medical provider.

    IMPORTANT TO KNOW

Eyeliner tattoo is a cosmetic tattoo that permanently alters your appearance. Although the pigment is designed to soften and fade over time, complete disappearance is not guaranteed. Some pigment may remain long-term or permanently.

If you decide you no longer want your eyeliner, professional removal may be necessary, and laser removal does not guarantee complete removal.

FRECKLE Pre-Care

  • 24–48 Hours Before

    • Avoid excessive sun exposure and tanning on the treatment area.

    • Do not use self-tanner, tanning drops, or bronzing products on the areas receiving freckles.

    • Avoid aggressive exfoliation, scrubs, peels, or strong skincare treatments on the treatment area.

    • Avoid picking, squeezing, or irritating the skin.

    • Arrive with clean skin and without makeup on the areas being tattooed.

    Please Reschedule If:

Your skin is irritated, sunburned, peeling, broken, or experiencing an active breakout in the treatment area.

Freckles cannot be tattooed over compromised skin. Your skin needs to be healthy and intact for the safest and most predictable healing process.

    IMPORTANT TO KNOW BEFORE BOOKING

Freckle tattoos are intentionally tattooed shallow.

The technique is designed to place pigment lightly and superficially in the skin. This helps create a soft, natural result and is intentional to encourage gradual fading over time.

Because the pigment is placed shallowly, freckle tattoos are more prone to fading than traditional tattoos.

Your individual longevity will vary depending on your skin, lifestyle, skincare routine, sun exposure, and how frequently you exfoliate.

Some clients may notice significant fading within months, while others may retain visible pigment for much longer.

Fading is expected, but complete disappearance is not guaranteed.

🚨 VERY IMPORTANT: LASER & ENERGY-BASED TREATMENTS

Please tell every laser or skin-treatment provider that you have freckle tattoos before receiving any treatment over or near the tattooed area.

This includes, but is not limited to:

• Laser treatments
• IPL / intense pulsed light
• Laser resurfacing
• Pigment treatments
• Photofacials
• Hair-removal lasers
• Tattoo-removal lasers
• Other light- or energy-based treatments

Laser and light-based devices interact with pigment in the skin. Depending on the pigment composition and the wavelength used, treatment can potentially cause unwanted pigment changes, including darkening, discoloration, burns, or other skin injury.

The FDA specifically notes that permanent makeup and flesh-toned pigments can be particularly unpredictable with laser treatment because some pigments may oxidize and become darker.

Laser procedures can also cause burns, scarring, and changes in skin pigmentation when complications occur.

For your safety, always disclose your freckle tattoos to your laser technician, aesthetic provider, or dermatologist before treatment.

If you are considering laser treatment in an area containing freckle tattoos, discuss the tattooed area with a qualified medical professional beforehand. Do not assume that a laser is safe simply because it is being used for a facial or cosmetic treatment.
